I found this website serendipitously. It says: “Welcome you are to this...Small Island of Inner Space. An Evolving Project...” Here you can find the text of the original statement made by Chief Seathl as well as editorial commentary and documentation regarding how and why the better-known version came to be. The original text is much longer. It is also much more profound. In addition, there are scores of other things here – links to the website creator’s own writings, which are profoundly beautiful; also lots and lots of links to sites for research into everything from American Indian culture to Sri Aurobindo. Worth a close look.
